Four School Principals Demoted to Classroom Teachers in Edo State

In what is an undeniably dramatic turn of events, the Edo State Post Primary Education Board has demoted four secondary school principals to the posts of classroom teachers as part of the punishment for their involvement in the collection of illegal levies from students.

The demoted educators are: Mrs Victoria Okuonghae of Nigerian College Junior School, Ms Glory Omorodion of Oka Junior Secondary School, Mrs Cecelia Isibor of Idogbo Junior Secondary School and Mr Bright Omorogie of Idogbo Senior Secondary School.

The former school heads were alleged to have extorted money from students by collecting between N11,000 and N20,000 for school uniforms a against the official fees of N3,000 and N4,000 for junior and senior secondary students respectively.

The disgraced educators have also been mandated to refund the money they extorted from the students; an exercise that will be dully supervised by the Post Primary Education Board in the state.
