Mrs Aisha Ahmad has been appointed as the new Deputy Governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The appointment is currently awaiting the Senate’s confirmation according to a statement issued yesterday by President Buhari’s Special Adverser on Media and Publicity; Mr Femi Adesina.
If confirmed, Mrs Ahmad will take over from Dr Sara Alade who retired from the position of CBN’s Deputy Governor back in March.
She is a well-known personality in the Nigerian financial sector having served in various high-level positions at Diamond Bank Plc. She is currently the Director of Retail and Consumer Banking at Diamond Bank.
