The Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2017 is currently ongoing, and so far we have seen some good designs, some interesting runway shows and some ugly models.
Oh please! We all know these models aren’t always as pretty as angels. Little wonder the attention is often best focused on the clothes instead. And here’s to be frank- the clothes (as seen so far), are indeed fabulous; at least going by Nigerian standards.
There has been displays by various designers, including Davido (who would have thought!), Moofa, P.O.C, Sunny Rose and others. More designers are slated to display their creations tonight and tomorrow before the annual event comes to a close.
Some celebrities have also been seen trotting down the runway, including Osas Ajibade who probably popped up to show the others how it’s done.
The Lagos Fashion and Design Week is an ingenious initiative aimed at supporting, strengthening, and developing the fashion industry in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. It is arguably the biggest fashion event in Africa which annually sees the gathering of various fashion insiders and enthusiasts on the continent and elsewhere.
This year’s event is themed Africa: Shaping Fashion’s Future, and it is taking place at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
