2017 has been very good to Wizkid; that’s a given! The young man just can’t stop wining. Now his latest accomplishment has got everyone from A-list entertainers to top shot politicians congratulating him.
He does deserve all the congratulatory messages in the world by the way, seeing as he has just defeated some of the biggest names in the global music scene to clinch a top honour. Yes, Wizkid just beat out Cardi B, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and even Jay Z to win Best International Act at the 2017 Mobo Awards. Now that’s something major!
See some of the felicitations he has garnered below-
Forever proud of you my younger brother…forever! @wizkid this was always the plan, and I’m soooo happy to witness the dream become reality. Go farther, go higher, and keep winning by God’s grace.
When Nigeria does well, I can’t help but feel well. My happiness is tied to the happiness of Nigeria, and when Nigerians break records and take the name of Nigeria to greater heights, it exhilarates me. Thank you Wizkid for raising Nigeria’s flag high for the positive, not for the negative. Your emergence as the Best International Act at the Mobo Awards is a proud moment for Nigeria. And the fact that you emerged over Jay Z and Drake makes it even more celebratory. WELL DONE. GEJ.
-President Goodluck Jonathan
Dear @wizkidayo, I’ve been in the entertainment business as an investor since 1980 and one of my proudest moments for Nigerian music is the day you defeated both Jay Z and @Drake, two of the biggest stars in the world, to win the Best International Act at the 2017 Mobo Awards. Well done.
